HP 10/100 Fast EIO Print Server with FollowMe Port
Fast Ethernet 10/100baseTX EIO Printserver for Hewlett Packard printers
Ringdales HP Fast EIO Printserver allows the user to share a 4000 series HP printer by connecting it directly to Ethernet/Fast Ethernet networks. It is compatible will all popular operating systems and communications protocols.
The internal Printserver with high speed processor delivers Enhanced Input/Output (EIO) for Hewlett-Packard printers. The EIO technology is based on AB-Semicon PCI chips, providing a substantial increase in the I/O bandwidth and data transfer rate when compared to the older 8-bit MIO bus.
Its management is unrivalled ensuring quick and easy installation onto any network environment. The user simply has to use the Web Browser to adjust its parameters.
Adding a FollowMe Reader offers your printer additional Accounting and Access Control features. Simply plug in the reader to the printservers serial port. FollowMe Printing allows a document to be sent from any Windows PC to a secure FollowMe QueueServer. It uses proximity cards to identify the user as the correct recipient of the document to be printed. Once you approach the printer or multi function device with the ID card, only then will your document be printed.
Appealing to many companies is the credit facility that can be set up for each user account. Individual users can be assigned a set amount of credits, preventing them from wasting unnecessary paper and toner. Time zones can be designated to prevent or allow users from printing at certain times. Accurate printing costs can also be calculated using the accounting feature, which provides a record of all prints, detailing the user, printer, number of pages, time and date.
FollowMe allows control of the print job from the client display, via a pop up menu. This provides additional features, such as “Print & Retain”, “Print & Delete”, “Delete”, View or Print job list, manipulate document details or request more copies after proof reading.
The Printserver can also be used with IPS-C software. IPS-C compresses large colour files and graphics when sent across any network, LAN, WAN or Intranet. De-compression by the printserver benefits in reduced transfer costs in terms of call time and network bandwidth.
Convenient setup of IP and subnet mask from the front panel of the printer.
The unit is supplies with a printer management software utility (Printset), supporting NMP and NPMP standards. Ringdales Printset network management software runs on all popular platforms including Novell, UNIX, Apple Mac, Windows and DOS.
The HP EIO Printserver can be managed by PeripheralVision, Ringdales leading network management software solution, over any TCP/IP network and over the Internet. The device is also supported by HP-Openview.
