FollowMe Printing gives you accountability and access control for network printers enabling control of printing costs.

FollowMe Printing is a 10baseT/100baseTX solution that may be used with any network printer or MFP (Multi Function Printer), regardless of make or type. FollowMe Printing offers many benefits to those who own and/or utilized printers. Put simply, FollowMe Printing effectively turns your centralized workgroup printer into a “personal printer", offering users increased control over the documents they print.

FollowMe Printing may be used with any recognition technique (Proximity/Swipe card, Finger Print). The system has a centralized Management and Accounting system enabling administrators to reduce the time wasted on such administrative duties. The accounting feature enables tracking of printer, paper and consumable usage on a per user, cost centre or printer basis. User authentication relies upon any of the described recognition techniques to be unique.

For user privacy and security, the software does not hold the user’s fingerprint pattern. Instead, it creates a unique fingerprint reference number for each individual.

A controller unit is simply connected to the printer/MFP via a simple RJ45 network connection, and set up with a central PC on the network. A recognition technique reader is then connected to the controller and may be mounted on the printer. Registered users send their print jobs to print as normal; when they are ready to collect, the user simply activates prints as and when required by presenting their identification (e.g. touching the fingerprint reader).

FollowMe is a completely flexible and secure solution. Once sent to the server, print jobs may be collected by activating any FollowMe enabled printer on the network allowing you to avoid printers that are out of toner, paper or offline by simply selecting another printer. For user’s security, print jobs are only printed when their owner is at the printer.

Another additional benefit of using FollowMe is it reduces the costs of owning a printer, making cost savings on paper, toner and ink by limiting their use.

Other compatible control devices are available for FollowMe, designed to integrate better with existing systems or provide higher levels of security. These include Proximity/Swipe card, Keypad, Barcode, Fingerprint and Wiegand Protocol readers.
