FollowMe Printing is a access control and accounting solution that can be used with any network printer or MFD (Multi Function Device), regardless of make or type in any 10baseT/100baseTX Ethernet network. There are many benefits that FollowMe Printing can offer any organisation large or small that owns or uses one or many printers. Put simply, FollowMe can effectively turn your centralised workgroup printer into a ‘personal printer’, offering users increased control over the documents they wish to print.

FollowMe Printing’s Management and Accounting package allows users to be assigned any number of ID cards for full control over the use of printers, enabling you to account for those who have access to the printer and when & where they have printed. You can also monitor and log printing use and costs on an individual or group basis.

A controller unit is simply connected to the printer/MFD* via a simple RJ45 network connection, and set up with a central PC on the network. A Proximity Card Reader is connected to the controller that can be mounted on the printer. Users send their print jobs to print as normal, and when they need to collect them, they simply activate them as and when required by using their own unique Proximity Card.

FollowMe is a completely flexible and secure solution. Once sent to the server, print jobs can be collected by activating any FollowMe enabled printer on the network allowing you to avoid printers that are out of toner, paper or offline by simply selecting another printer. For users security, print jobs are only printed when their owner is at the printer.

No license fees are needed per user or server, meaning that there are no extra or hidden costs to FollowMe Printing. Another additional benefit of using FollowMe is that it reduces the costs of owning a printer, making cost savings on paper, toner and ink by limiting their use.

Other compatible control devices are available for FollowMe, designed to integrate better with existing systems or provide higher levels of security. These include Wiegand Readers suitable for Motorola and HID type cards, magnetic swipe card readers, PIN Keypad controllers and Fingerprint identification readers
