Ringdale IP-PBX Appliance

The Ringdale IP-PBX Appliance is ideally suited to the home, small business and home-office environments. It consists of a small yet powerful solid-state PBX Appliance that supports up to 12 phone handsets and up to 4 external analog (POTS) lines.

The IP-PBX Appliance is Linux-based and all of the system hardware is pre-installed and all software is embedded and tested, ready to be configured for the small office, home or home-office environment (SOHO).

The PBX Appliance has no moving parts and has no Windows components, ensuring a solid, reliable telephony solution with maximum uptime and virtually maintenance-free operation. With zero moving parts and very low power consumption (less than 65 Watts), this appliance delivers low total cost of ownership with a typical ROI of about 1 year.

The connection between the PBX Appliance and the phone handsets is via standard RJ45 UTP Cat5/Cat6 cabling (Ethernet LAN cabling), so any existing Ethernet wiring infrastructure can be used to cable the telephone network. Deployment of a complete phone system (PBX and handsets) requires no special skill-sets as the whole system is designed around existing industry standards.

The IP-PBX Appliance incorporates a flexible and scaleable hardware / software architecture, making the total system suitable for single-family homes with one phone line requiring perhaps 3 handsets to small/medium size businesses with 4 phone lines and a dozen handsets. Adding additional analog (POTS) phone lines is a simple matter of adding and configuring additional analog line modules in single line increments (up to 4 lines total).

The connection between the PBX Appliance and the phone handsets uses the defacto-standard VoIP (Voice over IP) interface, providing extremely high-quality noise-free connections to cost-effective VoIP phones over standard Ethernet LAN cabling (RJ45 Cat5/Cat6). Handsets sold separately.

The quality of voice communication is further enhanced with the use of hardware-based echo cancellation, providing crisp, clear conversations.

The Ringdale PBX Appliance is standards-based, so for casual users where one of the many available SIP-based softphones will suffice instead of a regular phone handset, a wide variety of the most popular Softphones are supported and they can be downloaded to a PC that is on the same Ethernet network as the Appliance, including:
pulver.Communicator,
snom_360_Softphone,
Zoiper_2.0,
Express_Talk_Softphone, to name just a few.

In this way, a regular networked PC with attached speakers and microphone can also be used as a desktop phone and take advantage of all of the functionality and connectivity of the PBX Appliance.

The PBX Appliance has a built-in Web Page and is configured and managed from a PC Browser. This comprehensive, powerful yet intuitive graphical browser-based Administrator provides full control and management of the PBX from anywhere in the network. Configuring handset connections, external connections, managing the system and any updates are all controlled from this Administrator.

The heart of the Ringdale PBX Appliance is a pre-installed and pre-configured hardened superset of the popular open-source Asterisk ® code base.

The IP-PBX Appliance includes all of the traditional PBX telephony functionality and options, including but not limited to the following:
Call forward
