Madge Smart MK4 Low Profile PCI is the ideal Token Ring adapter enabling users to future-proof their PCs against future bandwidth demands. With auto-speed sensing 16/4 or 100Mbps connectivity, 16/4Mbps systems can be easily upgraded to 100Mbps, without the need to revisit the PC.

The Madge Smart MK4 Low Profile PCI adapter is the result of over twelve years of continued investment in Token Ring technology. It is an integrated adapter, supporting original Token Ring (both shared and full-duplex) and full duplex 100Mbps Token Ring.
The Smart MK4 Low Profile PCI can be deployed
immediately at 100Mbps or can be initially
deployed at 16/4 Mbps ready for a future
network upgrade.
Flexibility and Versatility
Smart MK4 Low Profile PCI features a high
performance PCI bus interface and advanced software support. It is compatible with all the latest PCI-based PC systems and supports automatic detection and selection of the following parameters: 100, 16 or 4 Mbps ring speed, STP or UTP cable, typeFull Duplex or shared Token Ring connection.
Software support is provided by Madge LAN
Support Software (LSS). It provides Operating System driver support, documentation and utility software. The Smart MK4 has Microsoft certified drivers for Windows XP, 2000, and ME, plus support for multiple other operating systems.
