ES/Server Twinax Gateway
ES/Server is a powerful, flexible, Twinax Gateway for IBM AS/400, iSeries, i5-Servers, Sys/36 and Advanced 36’s. It allows the sharing of Twinax 5250 Display and Printer sessions across Ethernet or Token Ring networked devices.
NLynx ES/Server is the easiest way to connect your Ethernet or Token Ring networked PCs to a Twinax host. The NLynx ES/Server solution from Ringdale uses a Twinax connection to the IBM Midrange host through a server PC that is used as a gateway. The available seven twinax sessions (7 per ES/Server card) are then shared across the network, using any of the three most popular network protocols.
Deliver up to 28 display and printer sessions to your networked PCs by installing up to four ES/Server adapters in one Twinax Gateway PC. And each ES/Server adapter is an advanced PCI (PnP) Twinax adapter card that requires no manual configuring of IRQ's.
ES/Server does not require the complexity of an APPC router configuration, making it easy to install and easy to configure.
ES/Server also includes the award-winning NLynx 5250-twinax emulator for the Client PCs. The rich functionality of this acclaimed emulator provides a wealth of user options, including:.
- Customizable session properties to allow users to configure the presentation in the most productive way.
- Select the most pleasing font, change colors to highlight important fields.
- Set up Macros to automatically run repetitive tasks.
- Make Hotspots (clickable fields) visible and create custom tear-away toolbars.
With ES/Server, directly-connected or network-attached printers now become IBM host printers with print features such as Auto-rotate, Auto-size and Host Transform also included.
And "Session Pooling" provides each PC with access to multiple ES/Server Gateways or twinax sessions.
