Token Ring to Ethernet Bridge - TCP/IP only
Ringdale's Bridge for connecting one single TCP/IP Token Ring end-device to Ethernet networks
If you have a Token Ring End-device like a workstation or a ticket printer and you need to connect an Ethernet network, your solution is here!
The Ringdale Token Ring Bridge provides a cost efficient connection between any Token Ring device and a Ethernet network, replacing the need for a Token Ring segment on the Token Ring network.
Printers, Digital Copiers, Internet Fax Machines and Network Computers with built in Token Ring connection can be directly connected to an Ethernet network.
Ringdale's Token Ring to Ethernet Bridge offers easy access for Token Ring devices to an Ethernet network where there is no Token Ring segment. Installation is quick and easy as the device does not require any setup or configuration. Once installed the Bridge will operate automatically.
An Ethernet connection is made with an RJ-45 connector, configured to allow a cross over cable to run to any 10baseT Ethernet Hub or Switch. The connection to the Token Ring is made using a Type 1 cable on a 9-way DB connector or Type 3 cable on an RJ-45 connector. The Bridge has the ability to automatically sense which Token Ring connection is used and the Token Ring speed, at either 4MHz or 16MHz.
Note: This device requires to connect to a MAU on the Token Ring side and so does the End Device. For convenience Ringdale can provide a 2 port MAU ( part no 00-03-0545-0000) which is looped internally. This means the Ringdale 2 port MAU can be put in-line with the End Device and the Token-Ring to Ethernet Bridge. The Ringdale MAU does not require any power and does not contain any batteries.
