Ringdales FastJet Ethernet Printserver is compatible with Hewlett Packard LaserJet 4 and 5 series printers and provides a direct connection to a 10baseT or 100baseTX network
Ringdales FastJet protects user investment through a unique switching capability. It automatically migrates from a 10baseT to a 100baseTX network, eliminating the need to change cards.
The FastJet supports all popular network operating systems and protocols, and provides concurrent support for Novell, UNIX, OS/2 LANManager & LANServer, Windows 95, Windows NT, Windows for Workgroups and Apple EtherTalk.
In Novell the interface can be set up as a Remote Printer or Printserver and operates with versions 2.xx, 3.xx and 4.xx with encrypted passwords and NDS support. In this environment the printer management software supplied allows easy installation from any local workstation on the network.
The design concept of the Fast Ethernet Printserver has automatic support for Ethernet II, 802.2, 802.3 and SNAP frame types.
