Remote UPS management via a standard TelNet connection


Ringdale's 10baseT/10base2 UPS Network Interface Card allows system administrators, network planners and users to remotely monitor and control a networks' Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) via a standard TelNet connection. This function greatly reduces maintenance visits, particularly in larger networks.

Ringdale's Network Interface Card is compact in size, very easy to install and connects directly to a UPS via a serial cable. In the even of power failure the UPS immediately provides alternative power allowing reasonable time in which to shut down the server, safegaurding against loss or corruption of valuable data.

The Network Interface Card has particular importance in applications such as textile electronics and communications, petrol pumps, drilling rigs pipelines and medical equipment where monitoring and administration of uninterruptable power supplies is vital.

Ringdale's Network Interface Card offers a number of benefits. Status readings for battery charge level, battery capacity, back-up times and user-selected options including default settings which can be monitored and reconfigured on screen from any network PC. Advance warnings of a low battery charge gives administrators valuable time to shut down the server in a controlled manner.

PeripheralVision controls the device over any TCP/IP network. Vital systems can be monitored - in the case of UPS failure, an e-mail could be forwarded to a mobile pager, alerting the user immediately.
