Why pay for an extra IP address for accounting, LAN and WAN roaming and secure printing when FollowMe has it All-In-One device "FollowMe", the sensible print solution from Ringdale. Now you can better manage the costs associated with copying and printing; FollowMe gives you accountability and access control for network printers.
FollowMe has two 10baseT/100baseTX network connections that can be used with any network printer or MFP (Multi-function Printer), regardless of make or type. The benefits of using FollowMe are available to anyone who owns and uses a printer. Put simply, FollowMe can effectively turn your centralized workgroup printer into a "personal printer", offering users increased control over the documents they wish to print.
E-Line (Encryption Printserver)
The FollowMe E-Line printserver provides a dual network port setup making it act as a proxy/bridge between the printer and the network. It can therefore process encrypted data from the network and decrypt it before passing it to the printer.
FollowMe E-Line supports government grade FIPS 140-2 decryption and the encryption methods currently supported are listed below:
FollowMe System Functionality
Preventing the unauthorized use of expensive color printers, MFPs, copiers and plotters has always been a difficult task. However, through in-house research, design and development, Ringdale has created FollowMe Copy Patrol, a scaleable solution to this problem.
FollowMe Copy Patrol performs the same functions as the original FollowMe Printing product, but has the extended ability to control multi-function devices and copiers. FollowMe Printing allows a document to be sent from any PC to a FollowMe Printing Q-Server software suit. It uses a variety of different recognition techniques (e.g. Proximity/Swipe card, Fingerprint) to identify the user as the correct recipient of the document to be printed. Once you approach the printer or multi-function device with the recognition technique, verify yourself and only then will your document be printed.
FollowMe Copy Patrol monitors the use of copiers with the aid of a user’s recognition technique. The user simply presents the card to the reader before using the copier, and a central network PC will log how many copies have been made. It can also limit the number of copies one person can make or stop them from using the copier altogether.
Appealing to many companies is the credit/quota facility that can be set up for each user account. Individual users can be assigned a set amount of credits, preventing them from wasting unnecessary paper and copier toner.
When sending documents to a printer, FollowMe allows control of the print job from the client display, via a pop up menu. This provides additional features, such as print job management for the amendment of print job status or print job deletion.
Other compatible control devices are available for FollowMe, designed to integrate better with existing systems or provide higher levels of security. These include Proximity/Swipe card, Keypad, Barcode, Fingerprint and Wiegand Protocol readers.
