An E-Line encryption print release station is part of the All-In-One FollowMe® secure roaming print and copy solution providing printer and copier security, printer and copier infrastructure audit, accounting and reporting.

FollowMe has two 10baseT/100baseTX network connections that can be used with any network printer or MFP (Multi-function Printer), regardless of make or type. The benefits of using FollowMe are available to anyone who owns and uses a printer. Put simply, FollowMe can effectively turn your centralized workgroup printer into a “personal printer”, offering users increased control over the documents they wish to print.
E-Line (Encryption Printserver)
The FollowMe E-Line printserver has dual 10/100 base Ethernet network ports acting as a proxy/bridge between the printer and network. It processes encrypted data from the network and decrypts it before sending documents to print.
FollowMe E-Line supports government grade FIPS140-2 encryption with the following encryption types currently supported:
Functionality
FollowMe can be used with any ID technology (RFID Proximity/Swipe card, Barcode, Fingerprint). The system has a centralized Management and Accounting system enabling administrators to reduce the time wasted on such administrative duties. The accounting feature enables tracking of printer, paper and consumable usage on a per user, cost center or printer basis. User authentication relies upon any of the described recognition techniques to be unique.
A controller unit is simply connected to the printer/MFP via a simple RJ45 network connection, and set up with a central PC on the network. A recognition technique reader is then connected to the controller and may be mounted on the printer. Registered users send their print jobs to print as normal; when they are ready to collect, the user simply activates prints as and when required by presenting their identification (e.g. touching the fingerprint reader).
FollowMe is a completely flexible and secure solution. Once sent to the server, print jobs can be collected by activating any FollowMe enabled printer on the network allowing you to avoid printers that are out of toner, paper or offline by simply selecting another printer. For user’s security, print jobs are only printed when their owner is at the printer.
Another additional benefit of using FollowMe is it reduces the costs of owning a printer, making cost savings on paper, toner and ink by limiting their use.
Other compatible control devices are available for FollowMe, designed to integrate better with existing systems or provide higher levels of security. These include RFID Proximity or Magnetic Swipe card, Keypad, Barcode, biometric Fingerprint and Wiegand Protocol readers.
