ModuLAN® DocuSender™ - Document Scan to E-mail or Fax Appliance

Unique device allows a USB connected scanner to e-mail or fax a scanned document without using a PC, a Server or a Service.

Ringdale has developed the ModuLAN® DocuSender, a compact appliance that works with existing USB-based scanners with flatbed and/or document feeders to scan directly to e-mail addresses or fax numbers, without the need for a PC, Server or subscription service.

DocuSender enables you to place document scan stations wherever there is a need for them in the office or the warehouse. Multiple scan stations can add to user productivity and availability when placed in common areas such as printer rooms.

The device is easily set up and works instantaneously. The base unit simply connects to an Ethernet network, a phone line using Ringdale's PCMCIA modem technology and a compatible scanner. The user can scan a document to an e-mail address or fax number just by entering the information using DocuSender's touch panel keypad with digital display.

DocuSender can also be used in a server-based environment to allow user authentication at the scanner through Ringdale's unique FollowMe® secure document output management technology, when attached to USB connected readers. It also allows companies to match documents to distinct identifiers, such as client codes or barcodes. Up to two readers can connect to DocuSender at one time.

In a server environment where authentication is incorporated, the user is allowed to choose the right scanner for their application, providing a coherent approach for scan to e-mail, fax and application workflow.

Users' e-mail and fax address books can be programmed through the device's touch panel keypad or via a PC over the network using Telnet or a Windows® based software application supplied with the unit.

DocuSender also allows the user to make an electronic copy of any scan-to-fax and scan-to-email document on a server for archive and audit purposes.
