NLynx Twinax Baluns permit transmission of AS/400 System/3x signals over UTP (unshielded twisted pair) wiring, eliminating the need for costly proprietary cabling systems. Gemini series filtered twinaxial baluns clean-up unwanted noise in the wiring environment that typically cause problems, such as device drop-offs and reverting to the sign-on screen.

Advanced filtering and excellent common mode rejection protect data against line noise. True unipolar to balanced signal conversion and exact impedance matching minimize ground noise and reflection problems.

NLynx's Gemini DB15 self-terminating baluns eliminate “T” and “Y” cable assemblies, ensuring a quality UTP connection and device termination. These self-terminating twinax baluns attach directly to the rear of the IBM device, eliminating the nuisance and problems caused by dangling “T” and “Y” cable assemblies. This direct attachment to the device provides a superior mechanical and electrical connection.

Optimum network performance is achieved with data grade cable. It is recommended that consistent electrical characteristics be maintained throughout the facility wiring, including all patch and line cords. Operational distances depend on cable characteristics, system configuration and electronics.
